Best British Cities to Hen Party by TNT

Here at Bijoux Hen Parties Ltd do love a lovely trip abroad, especially to Portugal to visit our sister company Pink Monkey Stag & Hen, however we are truly in Love with the beautiful places in the UK.

I came across this excellent article in TNT and thought I would share with you, as they are some my favourite cities in the UK.

Although hen weekends spent somewhere sunny are an attractive prospect, the extra cost, time and effort it takes to plan a trip abroad can often deter guests from attending.
The average cost of a hen party can easily be several hundred pounds or more. Add to that having to include flight costs and it can be too much for many.
Research from mortgages provider Ocean Finance found that 28% of people couldn’t afford to attend their friend or relative’s hen party. So, if you want to make sure that everyone can attend your hen weekend, you might think about choosing a destination in the UK. Fortunately the UK has many great hen party destinations that more than suffice.
Organisers of hen weekends, Maximise believe hen parties can look closer to home and still have a weekend to remember. They talk us through their top 5 most popular UK destinations for hen weekends.

London

London is undoubtedly one of the UK’s best hen party destinations. The Capital has just about everything on offer to guarantee a perfect hen weekend, with some of the best shopping to be had in Europe by day, and by night West End shows, trendy cocktail bars and late night clubs.
London is home to great landmarks, countless shops, boutiques and sightseeing opportunities, not to mention some of the world’s best hotels. Two of which, The Savoy and Claridge’s run sophisticated afternoon teas. If cucumber sandwiches aren’t really your thing why not attend a cocktail making class on the Thames

Newcastle

Newcastle was voted as the best University for nightlife in the UK. Not that you have to be a student to enjoy a night out on the Toon, the swanky Quayside is home to many trendy bars & restaurants. If there’s one thing the Geordies are known for more than throwing a great party, it’s their warmth and hospitality.
Newcastle is a city that is bound to impressive even the most demanding of hens. If you arrive on the right weekend, you spend a day at the races at Newcastle Racecourse, or alternatively, you can look over a different type of stallion at our Hen life drawing classes.

Manchester

Mancunians are a fiercely proud people, and rightly so, Manchester is a city that can claim amongst its list of achievements; the industrial revolution, some of the best musicians in the world, and of course Emmeline Pankhurst, leader of the Suffragette movement.
Now Manchester can also claim to be the best hen party destination in the North-West (sorry Liverpool!). The city has world-class clubs, amazing restaurants and arguably the best shopping to be had in the country. Sip cocktails in The Fitzgerald, an uber-cool bar in the city’s Northern Quarter, or become a pro at making your own at our Great Gatsby cocktail making night.
Average price of a glass of wine: £3.00

Nottingham

Nottingham may not seem like the obvious choice for a hen party weekend. However, you shouldn’t dismiss Nottingham too quickly as this East Midlands city strikes the perfect balance between history and beauty and has literally hundreds of exciting Hen activities. The city sits beside Sherwood Forest, which can a host an array of outdoor activities for hen parties. The city itself is home to some great hotels and restaurants.
Of course, Nottingham more than holds its own when it comes to nightlife. For cocktails make sure you check out Tilt Bar, one of the most popular in the city, or Pepper Rocks, that serves £4.00 cocktails every night until 10pm. Alternatively, with Maximise you can sip champagne on board a riverboat cruise on the Trent or relive your youth by attending a spice girls dance party

Cardiff

The Welsh capital is one of the coolest and most interesting cities in the UK, so it's no surprise that Hen Weekends in Cardiff are becoming increasingly popular.

Nowhere offers the chance to enjoy a last night of freedom like Cardiff. Its liveliest pubs and clubs are centred on St Mary Street, which becomes pedestrianised on Friday and Saturday nights. Hen party packages are a great way of seeing the very best bars, clubs and restaurants the city has to offer in one very memorable night out.

With Maximise you can enjoy playing ‘It's a Knockout' style Hen Welsh games such as Sheep Shenanigans, Drunk Dragons, Rugby Run. Alternatively, try your hand at mixing cocktails or have your own buff butler do it instead.
